In every new author's journey, there is a need for a little boost, some free advice, and even free services. Coffin & Nails Publishing wants to be more than just a publisher. We want to be a helping hand in your writing journey, free of charge, with nothing expected in return (other than a simple thank you). Below, you will find a collection of our free services as well as other people, groups, and organizations that are here to just help.
Beta reading is a free service designed to give authors valuable feedback from readers before their book goes to publication. In this process, authors provide a questionnaire tailored to their story’s needs. This questionnaire guides beta readers in evaluating key aspects of the manuscript, such as character development, plot coherence, pacing, and overall engagement. By gathering and analyzing this feedback, authors can make informed adjustments to strengthen their work before moving forward. This service is available to non-clients.
ARC reading is a free service designed to give authors those first reviews and ratings that are so important for a book launch. As a debut author, getting those first reads/buys is tough when no-one knows you and there's little to none word of mouth supporting your work. ARC readers give you that first boost to your work by adding a rating and review (sometimes even a blog entry on their website) that gets the ball rolling and helps readers unfamiliar with you and the book connect in a meaningful way.
Here is a list of selfless indie authors just like yourself who have gone above and beyond to provide invaulable services, blogs, and advice for debut and indie authors alike.
While these are not free in and of themselves (some have yearly dues), but they are an invaluabel resource for new and established writers. From blogs, to conferences, to local chapters, there's lots to be gained in these associations.
